How Inream Teleprompter works

Updated 19 September 2026 · by Viktor, video creator

Inream Teleprompter is a teleprompter in your browser: you record yourself while the script scrolls under the lens, it follows or waits for your voice, and subtitles come from your script.

Your script, in short lines under the lens

Paste a script or write one with AI from a topic. It is reflowed into lines of three to five words and shown in a band right under the front camera, in large type, so your eyes stay near the lens. The screen stays awake during a take.

Smart Scroll: three ways to move the script

Auto-pause moves the script while you speak and waits when you stop; it listens for your voice, not your words, so accent and language do not matter, and it calibrates to the room’s noise during the 3-2-1 countdown. Linear scrolls at a fixed 60-200 words per minute (default 140). Adaptive learns your pace and starts the next take at it.

Step back a line, retake the whole take

During a take, one tap moves the script a line back to re-read it, or a line forward, and the recording keeps running. On the review screen, trim the start and end, or retake the whole take.

Subtitles from your script

Subtitles are made from the script you read, not from speech recognition, so the words are exact. Edit them before export; an .srt file comes with the video.

Clean Audio

Noise suppression and echo cancellation are on, and the clicks of your mouse or taps on the controls are cut out of the audio.

Formats and export

Record 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9. Trim the start and the end before export. Pro exports up to 4K, capped by what your device camera provides.

Sharing and storage

On a phone, the share sheet sends the video to WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, TikTok or e-mail, or saves it to the camera roll. Videos are kept on your device in “My videos”; when a device cannot render the final video itself, the recording is uploaded for the length of the render and deleted afterwards.

Where it runs

In all major browsers on phone and laptop; nothing to install. Mirror mode is there for physical teleprompter rigs.
