Free teleprompter: what each app gives you without paying
Updated 29 September 2026 · by Viktor, video creator
Inream Teleprompter is free in any phone or laptop browser: unlimited recording, all three scroll modes and subtitles from your script. Free exports are 720p with a watermark. If you need no watermark at all, Teleprompter Pro on Apple devices and CapCut’s built-in prompter, for manual edits, export without one.
We make Inream Teleprompter. Every fact about another app comes from that app’s own pages, checked on 18 September 2026; each linked name opens a side-by-side page with the source of every value.
What is free in Inream Teleprompter

The catch in each free plan
- Inream Teleprompter: exports are 720p and carry a watermark.
- Teleprompter Pro: Apple devices only, and the text does not follow your voice.
- CapCut: mobile only, a fixed speed, and templates or premium elements add a watermark.
- Teleprompter.com: a watermark, and subtitles only once.
- VoicePrompter: the native apps hold three scripts; subtitles are not described.
- BIGVU: a watermark and 9 minutes per video.
- PromptSmart: free for 7 days, or one script in the Lite iOS app.
Free, and still easy and reliable
A free plan is only useful if the first take works. On Inream Teleprompter there is nothing to install and nothing to set up: paste the script, press record, and the text waits for you when you pause. It adapts to you rather than the other way round, and it is built so a take is not lost:
- The screen stays awake for the whole take.
- A phone call or an app switch ends the take and keeps everything recorded up to that moment, instead of filming the inside of your pocket.
- Takes are saved on your device. If the tab closes before you export, the home screen offers the take back.
- Your script is kept in the browser, so closing the tab does not lose it.
- If our server cannot be reached, recording still works.
- A take can run for 45 minutes, with a warning three minutes before the end.
- If a phone cannot render the final video itself, it is rendered on our server and the upload is deleted afterwards, within 24 hours at most.
When paying is worth it
When the video goes somewhere the watermark does not belong — a client, an ad, a course. Pro removes it and exports up to 4K, capped by what your device camera provides. It is $19/month, $35 for 3 months or $73/year, each billed once for its period, with lower prices in some countries.
