Online teleprompter that records you in the browser
Updated 29 September 2026 · by Viktor, video creator
Inream Teleprompter is an online teleprompter: open the page on a phone or laptop, paste your script and record. The text scrolls in short lines right under the camera, moves while you speak and waits when you stop, and subtitles are made from your script. Recording is free and unlimited, with nothing to install.
We make Inream Teleprompter. Every fact about another app comes from that app’s own pages, checked on 18 September 2026; each linked name opens a side-by-side page with the source of every value.
What an online teleprompter does
A teleprompter puts your script next to the camera so you can read it without looking away. An online teleprompter does it in a web browser instead of an installed app or a glass rig, so the same page works on an iPhone, an Android phone, a Mac or a Windows laptop.
Many online teleprompters only scroll text: you record with another app and line the two up yourself. Inream Teleprompter records the video too, with the phone or laptop camera, and hands you a finished file with subtitles.
How to use it, step by step
- Open teleprompter.inream.com in your phone or laptop browser and allow the camera and microphone.
- Paste your script, or have AI write one from a topic. It is broken into lines of three to five words that fit your screen.
- Choose how the text moves: Auto-pause, Linear or Adaptive. Pick 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9 and press record; a 3-2-1 countdown starts the take.
- Lost your place? One tap steps the script back a line; the take keeps recording.
- Trim the start and the end, check the subtitles and export. On a phone, the share sheet sends the video to WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok or e-mail, or saves it to the camera roll.
Easy from the first take
- Nothing to install and no app store: the link is the app, and it is always the current version.
- No formatting: pasted text is reflowed into short reading lines by itself, and again if you change the text size.
- No speed to guess: in Auto-pause the script simply waits for you.
- Lost your place? One tap steps the script back a line. There is no timeline and no editor to learn.
- Subtitles come from the script you read, so names and terms are already spelled right.
It adapts to how you speak
Most prompters make you keep up with them. Inream Teleprompter has three ways to move the script, and two of them follow you:
| Mode | How it moves | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Auto-pause | Moves while you speak, waits when you stop. Listens for your voice, not your words, and calibrates to the room’s noise during the 3-2-1 countdown. | First takes, pauses to think, any language or accent |
| Linear | A fixed speed you choose, 60-200 words per minute. | Scripts you know well and want at a steady rhythm |
| Adaptive | Learns your reading pace and starts the next take at it. | Recording a series, or the same script more than once |
Text size goes up or down in seven steps, and the lines reflow to fit the band at each size. Record 9:16 on a phone for Reels and Shorts, or 16:9 on a laptop for lessons and YouTube.
Reliable when something goes wrong
- The screen stays awake for the whole take.
- A phone call or an app switch ends the take and keeps everything recorded up to that moment, instead of filming the inside of your pocket.
- Takes are saved on your device. If the tab closes before you export, the home screen offers the take back.
- Your script is kept in the browser, so closing the tab does not lose it.
- If our server cannot be reached, recording still works.
- A take can run for 45 minutes, with a warning three minutes before the end.
- If a phone cannot render the final video itself, it is rendered on our server and the upload is deleted afterwards, within 24 hours at most.

When another online teleprompter fits better
- You want the script to track each word you say: VoicePrompter’s free web app or Teleprompter.com use speech recognition.
- You want 1080p on a free plan: Teleprompter.com Free records 1080p with a watermark; Inream Teleprompter Free exports 720p.
- You want AI editing after recording, such as removing “um”s from a transcript: BIGVU.
Where your videos go
Recordings stay on the device that made them, in “My videos”. They leave it only when a phone cannot render the final video itself: then the recording is uploaded for the length of the render and deleted afterwards.
Questions
Is there a free online teleprompter that records video?
Yes. Inream Teleprompter records in a phone or laptop browser for free and without a limit on recordings; free exports are 720p with a watermark, and Pro removes it.
Does an online teleprompter work on iPhone?
Inream Teleprompter does, in Safari or any other browser on the phone, with nothing to install. The script sits in a band right under the front camera.
Can I use it on a laptop with a webcam?
Yes. Raise the laptop so the lens is level with your eyes, keep the script band at the top of the screen and record in 16:9.
Does it work in my language?
Yes. Auto-pause detects that you are speaking, not which words you say, so any language or accent works.
What happens if I get a call in the middle of a take?
The take ends and everything recorded up to that moment is kept.
How long can a take be?
Up to 45 minutes, with a warning three minutes before the end.
